OP Rory Baker B-HONORS Scarlet Ibis G Gold Good exposure, colour and sharpness in the image. The reds are not over saturated as could easily be done with this brilliant red bird. I like the reflection as well. I just wonder about the timing and if the head is not too close to the water.
OP Rory Baker B-HONORS Portait 55 G Gold A clever setup with good exposure. The eyes are sharp enough. Maybe just a fine border to define the edges, especially on the black side.
OU Rory Baker B-HONORS Kookaburra G Gold Well exposed image that is pin sharp. The face and eye is a bit dark and can be lightened. The image needs a slight border to define the edge of the image.
SS Rory Baker B-HONORS Vulture  G Gold I like the composition and the timing of the shot. It is sharp and shows a lot of detail. The image is a bit bright and the dead areas above and to the right can also be cropped off.
MO Peter Charter 4STAR Feather Garlic Dhow G Gold I like the composition and a clever setup, that is plan but effective. I like the light on the foreground as well as the rim light around the feather. The focus is spot as well.
MO Shan Charter 4STAR On the Edge G Gold A great composition with good contrast between light and dark. The trees are pin sharp. The small branch sticking out the bottom left is a bit distracting and could be removed.
NA rob gasken 4STAR Watching G Gold This is a good portrait of the roller, and the composition is excellent.  The colors are good, and the bird stands out pretty well from his background.  There are not really distracting elements at all.  The eyes are sharp, and the exposure on the head is good, and you can see all the texture on the beak.  If you look carefully at the claws of the animal, you can see the texture in that area as well.  A well presented image, overall.
NA rob gasken 4STAR Lion Cubs G Gold This photo tells a lovely story of a family of Lions and the way that the little ones crowd around their mother all the time looking for attention, and of course looking for protection.  I love the colors and I love the separation of the main subjects in the photograph from the background.  It's unfortunate that the little cab in the front is slightly soft because the focus is definitely on the mother's face and the face of the cab that is underneath the mothers face.  The yawn of the little cub in the front would have been great if it had been in focus.  So the depth of field perhaps is a little bit narrow.  Maybe the aperture was too wide, or maybe it was just that the photographer was very close, but as presented it's a good photograph, well done.
OP JANICE  GASS 5STAR INTENSITY G Gold I like the chemistry between the couple. The exposure and focus is very good.
OP Brigitte Jordaan 5STAR Not fishing alone G Gold I like the story telling in this image and sums up our current Covid situation well. It has great golden hour light and the misty skyline adds to the image. The birds hovering around the person make the image.
OP Brigitte Jordaan 5STAR Look G Gold A nice angle and composition. The eyes are pin sharp. The specular highlights are a bit strong in the image, try and diffuse your flash, if you did then you need a bit stronger diffusion.
OU Brigitte Jordaan 5STAR Blue winged Kookaburra G Gold Another good portrait that is well composed and sharp. The image is well exposed but also a bit flat. Some contrast and saturation adjustments improves the image.
SS Brigitte Jordaan 5STAR Brown Snake Eagle G Gold Pin sharp and well exposed. The bright yellow eye just draws you in.
MO Marshall Lambert 1STAR Whats your vector Victor G Gold At one star we look at focus as the main criteria, and here the focus on the eye is spot on. Exposure is also well handled. To improve you could show more of the headphone, as it is an interesting part of the image that you removed.
NA Mary Landsberg 3STAR Henry G Gold This is a good sharp image and has immediate impact on the viewer. I like the colors very much. I think that everything blends in well together. I think the composition could have been improved by either allowing us to see a little bit more of the animal's body on the left hand side and perhaps most space on the right hand side for the animal to look into or to move into.
Or, alternatively, it could have been cropped into a head portrait above the eye, with the eye on the 3rd on the left hand side, and I think that would have had great impact, but as presented a good photograph.
SS Mary Landsberg 3STAR Eagle Portrait G Gold To be presented by Jane Bursey
NA Maxime Lenferna de la Motte 2STAR Quizy Leopard G Gold I love this photograph.  I love the colors and the lighting, and I think the composition is pretty good.  I think that if it was myself, I would have cropped out the leaves on the top left hand side of the photograph, and I would have cropped in from the right to the end of the leaves that are there.  I think that would have cleaned up the background and made a very acceptable portrait, but as presented it's a good photograph, well done.
NA Keith Marallich 5STAR Jackal Profile M Merit This is a gorgeous photograph.  The time of day and the lighting are absolutely perfect.  The separation of the Jackal from the background is magnificent and the colours are very complimentary and very pleasant to look at.  I love the focus; the jackal’s eye is very well focused and brings your eyes straight there.  It's a great photograph and well presented, so congratulations.
NA Keith Marallich 5STAR Three Thirsty Nya G Gold I love this photograph. It gives you an extremely peaceful feeling when you look at it.  The colors are beautiful, the focus on the three animals is excellent and of course the reflections in the water really add to the scene.  One can understand why people spend so much time in the Bush to see sights like this. Well done.
NA Keith Marallich 5STAR Calling G Gold The name of this image certainly is correct, and you can almost hear the roar coming out of the lion’s mouth in the photograph as presented.  It produces a great story. It's very sharp. The focus is beautifully handled through the whole photograph, and the colors are complementary, and the background is very nicely subdued.  So it's a great photograph, well done.
OU Keith Marallich 5STAR Grey Heron G Gold I like the light in this image and the way it bounces up to illuminate the Heron. Its pin sharp and well exposed. Maybe remove the stick floating in the water in post?
OU Keith Marallich 5STAR Blue Winged Kookaburr G Gold A good profile that is well exposed and the eye is pin sharp. The area around the eye can be lightened a bit.
OP Alta Neethling 2STAR Owl G Gold To be presented by Jane Bursey
OP Merle Prinsloo 2STAR Old cottages G Gold To be presented by Jane Bursey
OP Heide Smallwood G-HONORS this is freedom M Merit Great image with great light on the dancer. The focus and composition is spot on. The exposure on the dancer is very good, with all the detail in the blacks. The composite was also well done, especially the reflection in the water.
MO Heide Smallwood G-HONORS the joy of drumming G Gold A great portrait and the facial expression is priceless. Focus is spot on and the exposure is good. The background is a bit bright, but it also places emphasis on the person's hair.
OP Heide Smallwood G-HONORS dreaming days away G Gold A very good portrait that is well composed with very good focus on the eyes. The grey backdrop works very well in this image. To me it looks like one or more black dots were added to the model's cheek. Just make sure that your post processing work matches the rest.
OP Heide Smallwood G-HONORS down to earth G Gold A good story telling image that is well exposed and lit, the focus is where it needs to be. I feel a mono conversion of this makes for a stronger image. I also think that if you did not have paving stones in the background it would have added more to the story telling of the image.
OP Fred Turck 3STAR Desert Hike G Gold To be presented by Jane Bursey
NA Sandy van Heerden 4STAR Blue Beauty M Merit I love this photograph. The author is really achieved a great result.  The bird is beautifully in focus and it has the right amount of exposure on the bird.  You can see the eye and beak and the whole of the head very well.  The skylight in the background is not harsh, and it doesn't distract from the value of the bird and all of the colors melding together beautifully, so this is a great photo. I must congratulate the author.
NA Sandy van Heerden 4STAR Jumping Spider G Gold This is a good macro image.  The composition is good, the colours are excellent and all compliment each other perfectly.  The sharpness is pretty good, a little soft in some places, but I think the depth of field has been well handled, which is not easy in a macro photograph.  So well done.
NA Sandy van Heerden 4STAR Sensitive Eye G Gold This is another good artistic interpretation of an elephant.  The focus on the eye and the eyelashes are absolutely perfect.  The composition is good and the colours are excellent, so well done.
OU Sandy van Heerden 4STAR What big eyes u have G Gold There is nice eye contact with the owl. The image is pin sharp and also well exposed. There is nice separation from the background, but the lines are a bit distracting.
SS Sandy van Heerden 4STAR Eagle Eye G Gold A good composition that is well exposed and pin sharp on the eye. There is nice separation from the background as well. Watch your PP work, as it looks like you made a selection around the bird and it is showing in the feathers sticking out the top of the head. There is also a slight greenish halo along the top edge of the bird.
OP Brian Williams 4STAR Pink Lily G Gold Great composition and lighting. The focus is spot on. The backdrop looks textured, but I don't think it works for this image as it looks like a black backdrop that was lightened too much and the editing marks were exposed.
OU Brian Williams 4STAR Mr Peacock G Gold Nice light on the peacock that brought the colours to stunning life. The eye is pins sharp. To improve try not to cut of the feathers at the top of the image.
SS Brian Williams 4STAR Yellow Billed Kite G Gold I like the fierce look in this image. It is pin sharp and well exposed with good separation from the background.
OU Sharon Zunckel 3STAR Spotted Thick Knee G Gold To be presented by Jane Bursey
